What is PolyBackTest?

PolyBackTest records both sides of short-duration crypto prediction markets so a strategy can be tested against the book that existed at the time. Its data includes outcome books, market metadata, reference prices and resolution results. The product separates API data access from the AI strategy interface: buying the AI plan does not automatically provide a paid Data API entitlement.

Who it is for

  • Developers testing execution against historical liquidity
  • Researchers studying short-duration crypto rounds
  • Non-coders who want to describe a backtest in plain language

Workflows with PolyBackTest

Test an entry rule

Define the trigger, market round and entry time, retrieve the historical book at that moment and model the size against available depth.

Compare a rule across rounds

Use the same sizing, fee and fill assumptions for each supported market and retain resolved outcomes in the result set.

Choose an AI-plus-data setup

Use the AI plan for natural-language experiments and add a data plan only if you also need API access or larger history and throughput limits.

Pricing and total cost

Free access covers a small recent-market window. Paid data plans are configurable by history and throughput; AI access is a separate plan.

Free

$0

  • Recent BTC market windows by timeframe
  • Full-depth snapshots and timestamp queries within access limits

Pro — displayed base configuration

$19.90/month

  • Full Data API access; limited Strategy Builder; no AI access

AI

$35/month

  • Approximately 100 AI backtests/month
  • Strategy Builder and AI strategy analysis
  • No Data API access

Access: Dedicated infrastructure and longer history are separately configurable; the displayed one-coin dedicated example is $709.90/month.

Getting started

Before you start: Historical coverage begins when the provider recorded that market; it is not unlimited venue history.

  1. Create a free account and choose a supported crypto timeframe.
  2. Inspect a recent market’s metadata and outcome books.
  3. Write down entry, exit, sizing and fill assumptions for the strategy.
  4. Use timestamp queries or the Strategy Builder to run the test.
  5. Check whether the plan includes the required history, coin and throughput.
  6. Add AI access separately if you want natural-language backtests.

What to check

  • Historical coverage begins when the provider recorded that market; it is not unlimited venue history.
  • The current plan configurator lists BTC, ETH and SOL windows with different timeframe coverage.
  • Unlimited request volume still operates within requests-per-second and per-minute limits.
  • A historical book snapshot does not by itself model queue priority or prove that a resting order would have filled.
  • The AI plan and Data API plan have separate entitlements.

Our take on PolyBackTest

Timestamped full-depth books and separate backtesting access are useful for crypto-market replay. Capture start dates, history windows and modeled fills constrain the conclusions a backtest can support.
