## What is polymm?

polymm is the publicly released Python version of a sports market-making project. It combines bookmaker-odds processing, market matching, quoting, hedge handling and wallet-analysis scripts. The author explicitly describes it as retired and explains how stale odds and adverse selection damaged results.

Its strongest use is educational: trace how a seemingly hedged strategy can retain directional exposure when one leg fails. The private odds pipeline and the author’s newer Rust implementation are not included.

### Who it is for

- Developers studying sports market-making architecture
- Researchers learning from documented execution failures

## Features and coverage

**Available on:** Python, Source code

**Markets & venues:** Polymarket

- **Quoting pipeline**

Study odds de-vigging, event matching and limit-order logic.

- **Hedge and event handling**

Inspect the code paths for partial fills, edge loss and residual exposure.

- **Wallet analytics**

Use the documented public-wallet analysis scripts as a research reference.

## Workflows with polymm

### Study a failure mode

Read the author’s retrospective, then trace the relevant matching or hedge component in the repository.

### Assess dependencies

Identify the odds provider, database schema and infrastructure requirements before considering a local research adaptation.

## Pricing and total cost

The repository is MIT-licensed. The documented setup requires your own infrastructure and an odds-data source; the included public API path can incur data fees.

**Access:** This is source code for developers, not a hosted trading service.

## Getting started

1. Read the retirement and failure-analysis notes.
2. Inspect the data, matching and hedge code paths.
3. Review dependencies and test assumptions before adapting any code.

### What to check

- The Python bot is retired, private scrapers are omitted and the Rust successor is not included. Historical profit claims are the author’s account, not independently verified results.
